An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven engineer to work in a combined role within Kongsberg Maritime’s hydrodynamic technical sales support and design. As a valued team member is moving internally, we are open to hiring either an experienced engineer or recent Master’s graduate. If you’re new to hydrodynamics – don’t worry! We will provide you with the relevant training needed to succeed in this role.

As Technical Sales Support, you will be part of our Global Customer Support division, working with upgrades of existing customer products. You will have a close and effective collaboration with aftermarket sales function and the team of experts in our Hydrodynamic Research Center to create the best upgrading proposals and designs. You communicate this solution to the customer and motivate how we can translate their needs into the most efficient product upgrade, for example to reduce their fuel consumption. In this role, you will work with all products in our range, consisting of propeller, waterjet, POD and rudder, and customize the solution based on the specific vessel’s needs.

You are the one who is driving and creating the hydrodynamic design in our in-house developed software PropCalc, which is our tool used for sales, design and engineering of ship propulsion equipment. Through simulation and testing in our own laboratory, we have a unique opportunity to deliver high-end products with the right effect, power and quality. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding how our propulsion systems integrate and works in different vessels and applications. Through this experience and expertise, you will contribute to product development, research and business intelligence to understand our customers' future needs.

We are looking for a talented engineer to join our product management team for propellers and shaftline Systems. In this role, you will provide high-quality analyses to support the team and the business in order projects, development projects, and failure investigations.
You will be part of our Product Management Propeller department, which develops and delivers market-leading, world-class propulsion solutions. Our product portfolio consists of propellers and shaftlines for all types of vessels—from aircraft carriers to smaller luxury yachts—spanning both commercial and naval segments. As a Structural Analysis Engineer, your responsibilities will primarily focus on calculations and structural analysis for propeller shaftline systems. These calculations must meet internal requirements as well as the rules set by Classification Societies and other regulatory bodies. You should be able to document your work through detailed technical reports. You will support ongoing projects and contribute to new product development efforts. Key accountabilities
As Development engineer, you get the chance to further develop and deliver the best propellers in the world. You will be included in all stages of the product development of our complex propulsion systems, from first drawings to the final test run. Your position is characterized by working cross-functionally with colleagues from other departments in our global organization, as well as collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
In this position, you act as a specialist when it comes to complex mechanical issues, but also regarding hydraulic and numerical inquiries. An exciting opportunity has arisen as Fleet Support Engineer, part of the Technical Support and Engineering team within the Global Customer Support division in Kristinehamn. We are searching for an experienced engineer who has a background within project lead and customer relations and want to contribute to shape a new position.
As Fleet Support Engineer, you will come across our whole product portfolio such as propeller and shaft line systems, POD, waterjets and control systems. You will have the responsibility to manage the process when there’s a need to modify an already delivered product due to product safety and reliability issues. The modification projects could be of a shorter time horizon up to several years and include a single vessel up to a fleetwide upgrade.
Since your assignments are initiated from our product owners, you will have interface with several departments and stake holders within our company, both locally and globally. You will manage the modification and act as a link between our product owners, regional offices, spare parts department, field service engineers and our customers.
Key accountabilities
Communicate with all stakeholders to maintain overview of the vessels and modification in scope
Establish contact with the customer’s operational crew
With stakeholders involved, agree detailed planning for modification and delivery of parts and field service attendance
Keep track of cost and update provisions

In addition to the key responsibilities, you will be involved in other activities such as support in technical questions.
Qualifications and experience
Degree in engineering or equivalent work experience
Experience within project lead and customer relations
Technical understanding
High level of English, both written and oral
Experience in ERP and PDM systems is preferable

Utifrån kundspecifikation gör du en sammanställande konstruktion av hydraul- och kabelschema som sedan skickas vidare till leverantör för tillverkning. Du följer sedan upp kontakten med leverantören och arbetar sida vid sida med våra kontraktansvariga projektledare samt i nära samarbete med kollegor i teamet och andra funktioner i organisationen. Vägen från order till leverans sker även genom ett tätt samarbete med våra kunder, där du är företagets representant i tekniska frågor. Som person bör du därför gilla att hålla ihop många trådar, projekt och kontaktytor parallellt.
På sikt kan det förekomma resor i tjänsten där du medverkar vid test av produkterna ute hos våra leverantörer samt interfacemöten med våra kunder, du bör därför vara positiv till detta.
