Your Role
As a Development Engineer at Kongsberg Maritime, you will be a key player in our Global Customer Support division. Your main responsibility will be to work on the development and implementation of innovative solutions, adapting current technology to products delivered up to decades ago. You will coordinate and collaborate with colleagues across different functions, as well as with customers and suppliers, to ensure the successful design and upgrade of existing products.
In this role you will be involved in a variety of tasks including, setting plans, defining priorities, and taking the lead on development projects to completion - designing and implementing new solutions to meet customer needs. You will work on development projects across the areas of mechanics, hydraulics, and/or electronics, depending on your expertise and experience.

Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field of engineering and a high technical interest. Experience in design, CAD, project leadership, or product development is preferred, but not an absolute requirement. If you have recently graduated and don’t have experience already, with the right attitude, we're here to help you grow. Vad innebär ditt nya jobb?
Underhållsingenjör Maskinregister har du både ansvar för dina egna områden och samverkar ihop med dina kollegor kring hela fabrikens underhåll.
I rollen arbetar du självständigt med att uppdatera register i underhållssystemet IFS med avseende på reservdelar och inventarier. Du har en stödjande funktion gentemot avdelningar såsom underhåll, drift, förråd samt anläggning och är kontaktperson gällande reservdelsfrågor.
I rollen som Underhållsingenjör Maskinregister kommer du exempelvis att:
Ansvara för att lägga upp och ta bort artiklar och artikelfört material samt är behjälplig vid standardisering av utrustning gentemot underhåll.
Delta i arbetet med framtagning av verksamhetsplaner för avdelningen samt bistår vid upprättandet av budgetar och flerårsplaner.
Ansvara för UH-systemet och att det används enligt våra processer.
Utveckla och implementera förbättringar.
Ansvara för att befintlig och ny maskinutrustning registreras i UH-systemet. Du arbetar ständigt med att uppdatera komplettera vårt anläggningsregister med dokumentation samt tillhörande reservdelar samt att du analysera data för ständiga förbättringar.

Arbetet och arbetsdagen har ett högt tempo. Det innebär att man har många bollar i luften och att ingen dag är den andra lik. En utmaning i tjänsten ligger i bedömningen och utförandet av rätt insats.
I uppdraget kommer du att samarbeta med de flesta avdelningar i fabriken, men också med våra externa leverantörer och entreprenörer. Ett gott bemötande och en social intelligens är därför av stor vikt. Utrustningen och maskinerna är många och av olika slag – så rollen är både socialt, tekniskt och mekaniskt spännande (och utmanande)
Vem söker vi?
Du har:
Yrkesutbildning/Högskoleutbildning eller motsvarande erfarenhet
Erfarenhet av underhållsarbete från tillverkande industri
B-körkort.
Mycket goda kunskaper i svenska, i tal och skrift.

As Technical sales support, you will be part of our Global Customer Support division, working with upgrades of existing customer products. You communicate this solution to the customer and motivate how we can translate their needs into the most efficient product upgrade, for example to reduce their fuel consumption. In this role, you will work with all products in our range, consisting of propeller, waterjet, POD and rudder, and customize the solution based on the specific vessel’s needs.
You are the one who is driving and creating the hydrodynamic design in CAD and our in-house developed software PropCalc, which is our tool used for sales, design and engineering of ship propulsion equipment. Through simulation and testing in our own laboratory, we have a unique opportunity to deliver high-end products with the right effect, power and quality. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding how our propulsion systems integrate and works in different vessels and applications. We are looking for an engineer in the field of mechanics, engineering physics or equivalent to join our competent team working with calculations and analysis for propeller shaft line systems.
You will be part of our Product Management Propeller department who develops and deliver market leading world class propulsion solutions. This from a product portfolio that consists of propellers, shaft lines and reduction gears for all types of vessels, ranging from aircraft carriers to smaller luxury vessels in the commercial and naval market. As a Shaft line calculation engineer your work consists of various tasks, mainly focused on calculations and analysis for propeller shaft line systems. The calculations shall meet internal requirements and rules by Classification Societies or other regulatory bodies, and you should have the ability to document your work through technical reports. You will support the ongoing projects, as well as the need from new product development projects, and be involved in the whole product process, from sale to end of warranty.

We are looking for an experienced engineer in the mechanical field with a strong technical and engineering background. You will be part of a competent team working with development of our propeller systems and reduction gear.
You will be part of our Product Management Propeller & Reduction Gear department. The department develop and deliver market leading world class propulsion solutions from a product portfolio that consists of propellers, shaft lines and reduction gears for all types of vessels, ranging from aircraft carriers to smaller luxury vessels in the commercial and naval market. Our propellers vary in sizes from 1,5 – 10 m in diameter and in Kristinehamn we have delivered our high-performance propellers for over 80 years, starting with the well-renowned KAMEWA-propeller.
Key accountabilities
As a Development engineer, you get the chance to further develop and deliver the best propellers in the world. You will be included in all stages of the product development of our complex propulsion systems, from first drawings to the final test run. Your role is characterized by working cross-functionally with colleagues from other departments in our global organization, as well as collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you act as a specialist when it comes to complex mechanical issues, but also regarding hydraulic and numerical inquiries. Among other tasks, you will get to work with conceptual studies, detailed constructions, and investigations. You will be a part of a competent team of experts with the opportunity for you to develop in your own field of expertise.
In this position, travel is included, sometimes with short notice and with destinations almost anywhere in the world – on dry land, in dry dock or onboard a sailing vessel. You should therefore be comfortable with having travel as part of your work.
Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role we see that you hold a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Your previous work experience is characterized by several years in a similar role where leading projects of different kinds, communicating and networking on a global basis has been natural influences in your daily work. You are used to working goal-focused, independently making decisions and take responsibility for your and actions. In our global organization and market your high level of English, both written and oral, is fundamental for your success.
